CIGARETTE COUNTER
Most of the time
you smoke in an automatic, non-conscious way, often without
control. Now, every time you push the button on the Cigarette Counter,
you'll be aware of each cigarette, placing control of your habit back in
your hands.
The Cigarette Counter is a small electronic counter that helps smokers
keep their habit under control, easily reducing the number of cigarettes
they smoke. Its purpose is to give you a tangible way
to control your habit.
The Cigarette Counter simply clips to the top side of the cigarette pack. By pushing the button and viewing the number of cigarettes you've smoked
already, you become more aware of what you're doing!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It's EASY! - It's a two-step process:
1. Become aware of how much you are REALLY smoking...
Every day, before
smoking the first cigarette, turn the counter on. Look at the number of
cigarettes you smoked the day before and give yourself the goal to not
smoke more than that, or better yet to reduce that number!
Press “Reset” then press "+" to add the first cigarette, and turn the counter off (the
numbers stay in memory).
2. When you are ready to take control of your smoking habit...
decide
to set the counter to a certain number, and press the "Minus" button every time you smoke, until you reach zero.
When you get to zero you're done smoking for that day.
Now you can
reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke each day by following a simple
"countdown to zero."
The Cigarette Counter will help you to give yourself permission to
smoke only in certain moments of the day, without smoking the "extra"
cigarettes. YOU decide when to smoke, not your addiction! You are now
back in control. In special situations you can decide to be more
flexible, maybe during weekends or during a particular evening when
you're out with your friends.
The important thing is that you give yourself a daily rule, and that
you keep it. It is easier than quitting "cold turkey", but you still
need a little bit of will power and guidance. The simplicity of the
Cigarette Counter is always with you, helping you to keep track of your
smoking habit.
A habit is something you do over and over again, usually without
thinking. If you take control and begin to consciously control a habit,
then it's not so much a habit any more. You are no longer smoking without
thinking. You are smoking on purpose! With purpose, you have control.
And with control you can reduce the number of cigarettes you smoke, and
ultimately quit!
